Embracing the Holy in our Lives at Peace Tree’s Open House

Meet Dr. Devoree Crist, one of our wise spiritual directors who will be offering an experience of mindfulness meditation at Peace Tree’s Open House. Join us Saturday, October 21, 2-7 p.m. for free demonstrations, classes, experiences, and resources to help you more deeply connect body, mind, and spirit.

Dr. Devoree Crist is a spiritual director, retreat leader and writer.  Her work as a companion on the spiritual journey is primarily with individuals but she has also walked with couples and groups.  She believes that God meets us where we are and that opening to and embracing the Holy in our lives allows us to become our true selves. Spiritual practices are as diverse as human beings and when each person discovers her/his/their own ways to connect to the Source of Life so much is possible.

Devoree has Masters of Theological Studies from Eden Theological Seminary, a graduate certificate in Spiritual Direction from Aquinas Institute of Theology and a Doctor of Medicine from Washington University School of Medicine.  She is married and has two adult children and is an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) where she is part of the music leadership and liturgical team. She sings with the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and enjoys painting. She has also contributed to two books on prayer and is currently working on a collection of prayers for worship.
