Peace Tree Mourns the Loss of a Leader and Friend

Peace Tree Mourns the Loss of a Leader and Friend

We said to good-bye to our dear Anne Knight who passed away last Saturday.  Anne served a Peace Tree’s Co-Director from 2017-2018. The light she carried warmed her family and all of us who knew her.  She supported many in her time on this earth.  She held a capacity to love, to wade through the unknown, and to make manifest in the world the beauty that lived in her soul.  No longer contained in her body, Anne’s light now expands into the radiant beauty all around us – in nature and in the people who knew her love.

Anne’s obituary is copied below including details concerning her memorial service.  She generously chose to request donations to Peace Tree in lieu of flowers.

Obituary for Anne Germaine Knight

Anne Germaine Knight (nee Stelzer), of St. Louis, MO, left her earthly body, at age 61, on September 29, 2018, after her battle with cancer. She was born to the late Raymond and Rosalie Stelzer on February 13, 1957.

Anne is survived by her son Jonathan Knight, his wife Natalie and their two children – Kenzie and Harvey; her son Kenneth Knight, his wife Jamie and their son – Lucas; and her son Benjamin Knight, his wife Michelle, and their son – Calum; her siblings: Stephen (Angie), Mary (Larry), Elizabeth, James (Lynette), Michael (Maria), Margaret (Robert), Gerard (Christine); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her brother David Stelzer.

Anne was a lover of nature, so much so that she pursued a degree in forestry and spent many family trips taking her son’s camping. She loved learning and experiencing all the world had to offer and shared a deep love of traveling with her family. Anne impacted many lives through her spiritual work with local organizations and families, including her most recent relationship with Peace Tree Spirituality Center where she served as Co-Director.

Anne’s greatest passion over the last four years was taking care of her grandchildren and assuming her favorite pseudonym of “Nana.”

Please join us in celebrating her life on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Valhalla Funeral Chapel, 7600 St. Charles Rock Rd, St. Louis, MO 63133. A gathering will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a service at 10:45 a.m., with a private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Peace Tree Spirituality Center; 718 N Hwy 67, Florissant, MO 63034 or online at peacetreecenter.org.
